Winona Does Vogue

A couple of days ago, as I was walking from the kitchen to the living room(…) I noticed my wife was watching the end of Mermaids on one of the movie channels. We started talking about how Winona Ryder kinda’ disappeared since being caught shoplifting a few years back, and how shoplifting sounds so innocent comparing to the jail/rehab/drugs/homemade porn and other goods that surrounds today’s celebrities. So today, as it often happens with people I talk about (my natural super power) Yahoo reports that Winona is finally speaking out on her shoplifting incident five years ago, where she got in trouble for stealing. The interview will appear on the August issue of Vogue magazine. Ryder will also be featured as the cover star. In a quote from the interview Winona refers to the media coverage:”The attention was what was embarrassing, It was the December after September 11. . . So much attention was being paid to me, when we had just been attacked and there was all this really important news going on.” Winona also explains why she used painkillers: “Two months prior to that, I broke my arm in two places, and the doctor … was giving me a lot of stuff and I was taking it at first to get through the pain. And then there was this weird point when you don’t know if you are in pain but you’re taking it. Have you ever taken painkillers? It isn’t a reckless[state], like you’re out of your head. It’s just confusion.”
