Kobe Bryant & LA Lakers: NBA Champions

Kobe- Lakers- Amaldo

Led by the most decorated coach in NBA history, Phil Jackson, Kobe Bryant the giant and the rest of the Lakers won the title again, playing amazing Basketball. Kobe no longer has a chip on his shoulder, and I can say again what I’ve said before, Bryant is up there with Magic, Bird, and yes, Michael Jordan. If you watched the game, you know what I’m talking about, if you didn’t, take my word for it.

Schilling Poo Poos Kobe Bryant’s Poor Sportsmanship on His Blog

By Beth in NBA, Kobe Bryant, NBA Playoffs, Celtics vs. Lakers, Curt Schilling on June 12 2008

Curt Schilling
Curt Schilling is probably known better these days for his antics off the Fenway field, than on, but that doesn’t stop the Red Sox pitcher from airing his opinions (and he has many) on his blog, 38 Pitches. Today Schilling made headlines with his most recent lengthier-than-thou post which included a rant on the greatest basketball player to hit the NBA since Michael Jordan, otherwise known as Kobe Bryant. Now I don’t know how Kobe functions as team leader. I’m not sure he’s half the leader Celtics’ captain Paul Pierce is (as Schilling seems to suggest), and I might never know since I don’t have the kind of cash/kudos/fame that permits the luxury of sitting up near the teams’ benches during the NBA finals, but considering that Kobe has managed to rather successfully juggle the role of team captain, superstar scorer, and consistently averaged the highest # of points scored by a b-ball player in the post-season, I would advise Schilling to simma’ down.

Kobe’s Magic

By ariel in Uncategorized, Entertainment, sports, NBA, Kobe Bryant, Basketball, Boston, Los Angeles Lakers, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird on December 26 2007

Magic and Larry in the good old daysThough living in Boston, and enjoying the huge success of its sports teams, when it comes to Basketball, my heart lies in California. 3900 W. Manchester Blvd. Inglewood, California if to be more specific, the address to the good old Forum. I remember the day when I was just a little boy, in the only one TV channel land of far away, when a weird looking guy appeared on the screen and said he is going to show us Basketball from a different world. Kobe is coachable againIt was the early Eighties, and the new names that I heard on that day: Magic, Bird, Mchale, Jabar, Parish and Worthy, filled my head, and stayed there ever since. You had only two options back then, you were either a Celtics fan, or a Laker fan, and I went with Magic. More then 20 years have past since (shit I’m so old), in which Michael Jordan came and went, and then came back just to go and come back again, and while doing all of that changed the game of Basketball forever. The Lakers left the Forum moved to the Staples center in which they won a few more championships but lost many more games and went into a 5 year draft that made Coach Phil Jackson a relatively calm person to out of his way, and call Kobe Bryant “uncoachable“.
But this past week, I got a chance to watch the Lakers play, and I think that we can see the light. Kobe is better then ever, the team is looking very good. The game Vs. the Suns on Tuesday was a big test for them, and they passed in flashing colors. This year’s Boston Celtics is a better team then any other in the NBA, and I think they are favorites to win the title, but I also think the Los Angeles Lakers have a good chance to win the western conference.

Is Kobe’s Talent In Question Here?

By ariel in Uncategorized, sports, NBA, Kobe Bryant on March 17 2007

If anyone is still wondering who is the greatest basketball player of the decade, and one of the greatest of all time, they got their answer last night. Forget the fact that nobody likes Kobe Bryant, he has behavioral problems, etc. This guy can play ball.

Scoring 65 points in last night’s game and putting the Lakers’ 7-game losing streak behind, he also has managed to surmount the ugly press from his most recent suspension. Whether former Bulls’ coach and current Lakers’ coach Phil Jackson’s NBA witchunt against Kobe allegation is accurate, what should be celebrated is this guy’s talent for playing the game.
